I seem to be my own worst enemy

Last night was a little different than last week. I only got to throw 2 practice balls and that's not enough to get rid of the stiffness much less get lined up. I started out with my Elite R47 and was hitting the pocket but I started coming in a little light and late. I pulled out my Elite R43 which rolls a little sooner and hooks a little more and finished the first game with a 226. I started the second game ok but the R43 just was'nt working the way I wanted it to. I decided to move a little deeper and get the Cobalt Bomb out. This ball is pretty snappy on the backend so I thought it may help me carry a little better. After a couple of splits and not being able to get a consistant reaction I decided that I had created a worse problem than I originally had by overthinking and shooting an ugly 162. By this time I decided that I should have stayed with the R47 and made minor adjustments to try to help the carry. I started the last game with the R47 and made a minor adjustment and nailed the pocket and it carried. The second frame was not so friendly. I threw a good shot but left a solid 10 pin which I failed to pick up. I managed to regain my focus and went off the sheet for a 268. I just wonder what would have happened if I would have stayed with my first ball choice and made those minor adjustments instead of searching for something that was'nt there.

    Wasted opportunity

This past Tuesday night things seemed to be falling in to place nicely. I started things off with a 269 in the first game that could have been a 300. The second game went well and without missing the pocket I shot 279. Then I did what I should try hard to never do, I started thinking 800. The last game was going well until I threw my first bad shot of the night and left 4-7-10 split. I missed that and over adjusted on the next shot leaving a 2-4-5. I picked that up and regained my focus and went off the sheet for a 241. That gave me 789 and made me really wish I could throw that one shot over but I could'nt. Maybe this next week things will go a little better.
